We are thrilled to announce that AnimeNJ++ 2026 will host the official US Premier of “Boys Be Heroes!” this November!
Created, animated, and character-designed by featured guest Cindy Yamauchi, with music performed by featured guest Aoi Matsuyama, “Boys Be Heroes!” is an original independent anime music video project inspired by Japanese tokusatsu heroes and local community culture.
Set in Fuchu, Tokyo, “Boys Be Heroes!” follows three childhood friends who turn their shared obsession with the fictional hero show Runenightzer into reality. Making the leap from their local snack shop to the stage, they form a tokusatsu-inspired idol unit to prove that you are never too old to chase a dream and become someone’s hero!
Don’t miss this exclusive screening and meet legendary animator Cindy Yamauchi and idol performer Aoi Matsuyama at AnimeNJ++ 2026!
